The International Practice Section of the Washington State Bar Association cordially invites you to attend the 2014 Law Student Reception.  This annual event provides an opportunity for attorneys practicing in international law and law students interested in this practice area to meet and interact over drinks and delicious hour d’oeuvres.  Our special guest speaker, Bárbara Olagaray Gatto (Senior Director Global Government Affairs, Microsoft Corporation), will also make a few remarks about her career in international law.

Free for IPS members and law students, $40 for non-IPS members.  If you’re in the latter category, you really ought to join the International Practice Section for $40, at which point the reception will be free.

Bárbara Olagaray Gatto, Senior Director Global Government Affairs, Microsoft Corporation

Bárbara Olagaray Gatto is Senior Director Global Government Affairs at Microsoft’s Legal and Corporate Affairs department.  Her work focuses on providing strategic support and advice to Microsoft’s Government Affairs professionals in the Asia Pacific region, developing Microsoft thought leadership on top government and national priorities, engaging on key policy issues with government officials, and supporting Microsoft government affairs community development program.  Prior to her current role, Bárbara was the Director of Legal and Cooperate Affairs for Microsoft’s subsidiary in Spain, responsible for both Spain and Portugal.  Before joining Microsoft in 2002, Bárbara practiced law in the U.S., U.K., and Mexico, in cooperate legal department, law firm, and government.  She received her law degree and a Master in Criminology, Sentencing and Criminal Process from Iberoamerican University in México City.
