The International Practice Section has added a new Legislative Advocacy page to its website blog, the Global Gavel, focusing on the IPS’s involvement in the Washington state legislative process. Among other things, this new page outlines the new process the IPS Executive Committee has adopted to comment – when time allows – on bills as requested by the WSBA. This process will enable our Section to comment on legislation that has a statewide impact on the administration of justice and/or the practice of law. Due to the broad range of international practice and diversity of our Section members’ experience, as part of this legislative comment process, the IPS Executive Committee may contact the general membership to ask for your opinion on particular bills presented. The detailed information on the legislative process is on the Global Gavel, and you are encouraged to check out the new content in our Legislative Advocacy section, including the new IPS Legislative Comment Process, and article on Advocating for Change: How You Can Participate in the Legislative Process by IPS Executive Committee member Bonnie Stern Wasser, and other related pages posted on the site. For questions, please contact Bonnie Stern Wasser at email@example.com.
