The WSBA-IPS Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place on September 22, 2017 at the University of Washington School of Law. Outgoing Chair Bernard Shen reported the IPS’s activities for the 2016-2017 year, including its three major events (2017 Kickoff, Spring Event, and the AGM), seven CLEs, and two happy hours, and passed the leadership to the incoming Chair, Matthew Dresden, who addressed the IPS’s continuing efforts to provide and improve the IPS’s programs for the members. The AGM was followed by the CLE presented by Prof. Dana Ragrodski on the topic of “The Role of Business in Human Trafficking and Forced Labor,” introducing the issues and challenges involving worker well-being that world-wide companies have been facing while pursuing their profits. The reception followed with about 70 attendees, both lawyers and students, who enjoyed dining and conversing to connect and reconnect with the people in the international legal communities.
