CLE = “Open Source Software: Legal Issues and Cases in the U.S. and Abroad”

Categories: Uncategorized

Legal issues in open source software have been much in debate among practitioners where legal consequences are unclear due to the scarcity of case law and the rapid progress of technology.  In the past decade, however, courts have tried more open source software cases than before, providing conclusions to some of the debates and underscoring some risks that had been discussed.  Eriko “Elly” Baxter, the former lead counsel to the software group of IBM Japan and current advisor of local IT companies, will cover controversial open source licensing terms and cases in the US and abroad.
