The WSBA International Practice Section presents a CLE on “Cross-Border Litigation Issues: Uncooperative Canadian Witnesses (Letters Rogatory) and Shareholder Disputes.”

Join Canadian Lawyer, Michelle Maniago as she helps American practitioners navigate the nuances of “Letters Rogatory” when dealing with uncooperative witnesses residing in Canada.  She will specifically discuss the differences between: subpoenas and letters rogatory and the differences between US-style depositions and Canadian examinations on commission.  Additionally Ms. Maniago will provide an overview on shareholder remedies in for US based clients.  Ms. Maniago will also discuss cost-saving tips for US counsel in retaining and enforcing a letter rogatory in Canada as well as effective cost saving tips for cross-border shareholder disputes.
